SIGs

Special Interest Group (SIG) for PhD-level Writing Teachers and Researchers

At IFAW, we understand the pivotal role that skilled writing and research abilities play in the success of aspiring scholars. Our aim is to create a collaborative and supportive community where those of us who are deeply committed to enhancing PhD-level writing instruction and research practices, can come together to exchange ideas, share expertise, and promote innovation in this vital domain.

The objectives of our SIG are as follows:

1. Knowledge Exchange: Facilitate the exchange of ideas, best practices, and resources related to teaching and researching academic writing at the doctoral level.

2. Research Collaboration: Foster opportunities for collaborative research projects that explore effective approaches to PhD-level writing instruction, assessment, and support.

3. Professional Development: Organize workshops, webinars, and seminars led by distinguished experts to enhance the skills and knowledge of SIG members.

4. Networking and Mentorship: Provide a platform for networking with peers and mentors to build meaningful professional relationships.

5. Advocacy: Advocate for the recognition of the importance of doctoral writing pedagogy and research within academic institutions.

The inaugural meeting of the SIG will take place on October 29th, 2023 at 11:00 via Zoom [https://us02web.zoom.us/my/monicabroido].
